A good Cape Town itinerary needs more than a list of attractions. It needs a workable pace, room for weather changes and a balance between city time and journeys further out. This five-day starting point combines neighbourhoods, mountain views, the Cape Peninsula and the Winelands.

The Cape Town & Winelands journey currently carries a USD 1,050 guide per adult, sharing accommodation. The travel team confirms transport, visits and your final price before booking. Flights are excluded, including any flight you might use to connect this route with another part of South Africa.

Day 1: arrive without overfilling the day

Settle into your accommodation and leave time to get your bearings. A short local outing can work well if your arrival allows it; a tightly timed excursion after a long journey often needs more room. Agree airport or other arrival transfers in your quote.

Day 2: city time and a flexible mountain plan

Choose the neighbourhoods, food stops or cultural visits that interest you. Discuss a Table Mountain visit as a weather-dependent option, rather than building an entire day around a guaranteed ascent. Ask how tickets and alternatives will be handled if conditions change.

Day 3: explore the Cape Peninsula

Plan the day with your guide around the places you most want to spend time. A scenic stop, a walk and a proper lunch break can be more rewarding than rushing between every possible viewpoint. Confirm the route, entrance fees and total driving time.

Day 4: a Winelands day that fits your interests

Discuss a locally arranged outing to the Winelands. Tell the team whether you want food, landscapes, heritage or tastings, and whether anyone in the party prefers a day without alcohol. Tastings, meals and transport should be specified in the quote; they are not automatically included.

Day 5: finish with a realistic departure plan

Leave time for a final city morning if your onward travel permits. Confirm checkout, luggage arrangements and the transfer to your departure point. An early departure changes what is practical on this day.

Make the route your own

For a slower coastal extension, compare the Garden Route journey. If wildlife is central to your plans, look at Kruger & Panorama Route. These are separate routes: combining them requires a new itinerary, transport plan and quote.

Before you confirm

Review accommodation and room sharing, each transfer, included meals, attraction tickets and any supplements. Explain accessibility or dietary needs early. Check the travel requirements for your passport through the relevant authorities, and read the booking-specific amendment and cancellation terms.

The guide excludes all flights, visas, insurance, tips and personal spending. Named visits remain subject to conditions and availability. Explore South Africa or request this journey to start planning.
